Description

This is a stoneware dinner plate with a wavy, scalloped rim and a broad flat centre, glazed in yellow. Fluted ribs radiate from the flat centre out to the edge. The glaze reads lighter over each ridge and deeper in the hollows between them, so the surface has a gentle play of tone. It measures 27cm across and 2cm tall, which is a true dinner plate size: room for a main course with its sides, rather than a starter or a slice of toast. At 1.08KG it is a substantial plate with a solid feel in the hand.
