Description

The Knightsbridge Large Cage Pendant is a 170mm diameter geometric wireframe shade in brushed chrome-finished steel. The shade itself is sold as an accessory component without a lamp holder or bulb, designed to pair with Knightsbridge's separate decorative lamp holders including the 8271xx, TRK8271xx and CALLA Vintage series to build a complete pendant light fitting.

Suited to kitchens, dining areas and living spaces where an industrial or mid-century aesthetic is wanted, the cage functions as a protective and decorative surround for a visible filament bulb. When fitted with a Knightsbridge lamp holder and a vintage-style filament bulb, the open wireframe casts shadows on surrounding surfaces while allowing the bulb itself to be the focal light source. The geometric faceted structure works well in grouped installations over kitchen islands or dining tables, or as a single pendant in smaller spaces.

The brushed chrome finish provides a cooler metallic tone than brass or copper alternatives and pairs with both modern monochrome interiors and warmer vintage schemes. The steel construction gives the 175mm-tall shade a rigid structure that holds its shape when suspended. The cage accepts E27 lamp holders and can be hung on fabric-covered flex or standard pendant cable depending on the lamp holder system chosen.

Because the cage is sold as a shade component only, buyers need to source a compatible Knightsbridge lamp holder separately to complete the fitting. This modular approach allows different combinations of shade finish, cable style, lamp holder type and bulb to be mixed according to the specific interior.

The cage shade only. The lamp holder, pendant cable, ceiling rose and bulb are sold separately. This is a decorative accessory component designed to be paired with Knightsbridge's compatible lamp holder systems.

Which lamp holders is it compatible with?

The cage works with Knightsbridge's 8271xx, TRK8271xx and CALLA Vintage series lamp holders, all of which accept E27 bulbs. Check the lamp holder product pages for specific dimensions to confirm the holder will fit inside the cage aperture.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The cage carries no IP rating and is designed for indoor use only. The steel construction and brushed chrome finish are not weatherproofed for outdoor installation.

What size bulb works best?

Vintage-style E27 filament bulbs in standard or globe shapes up to 60mm diameter fit well within the cage. Larger globe bulbs may protrude beyond the wireframe depending on the lamp holder used.
