Description

A tealight holder in glass, a plain straight-sided cylinder 10cm tall and 8cm across, with a rounded lip at the rim and a flat base. A metallic finish is laid over the glass and broken all across it: pale champagne where it lies thick, warm brown and grey where it thins, with speckles and streaks running down the wall. The finish carries over the inside face as well as the outside, and the base is left almost clear.

The wall stands 10cm above a tealight, so the flame sits well down inside the glass and the light that comes out is broken up by the speckling rather than thrown evenly. That suits a mantelpiece, a shelf or a side table, where the holder is seen from the side rather than from above. Kunjari runs in two sizes, and the two stand together.

The glass is recycled: collected and washed before it is melted down and shaped. The finish sits on the glass rather than being the colour of the glass itself, so it falls differently on every holder and no two carry the speckling in the same places. Kunjari also runs at 15cm tall and 12.5cm across. The tealight is not included.
