Konali Mango Wood Table Lamp Base - Ash Stain

The Konali is a turned mango wood column built from three stacked spindles, each swelling out and drawing in again so the profile reads as a row of beads rather than a straight post. It stands on a round disc foot and rises 53cm to a brass cup with a black lampholder and shade ring on it. The wood carries an ash stain, a pale grey that sits into the grain and leaves the darker figure of the mango showing through. A rust coloured cord runs from the foot with a switch on it.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 53cm it is tall for a table base, which puts a shade beside an armchair at reading height rather than at bedside height, and at 17cm across the foot it stays out of the way on a side table. The turned spindles throw their own shadows down the column with the lamp off. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the cord runs 2.5m with a switch, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The column is mango wood, turned by hand and then stained, so the grain takes the ash differently on every base and no two match. The Konali range also holds a floor lamp base in the same ash stained wood. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, with a black lampholder and a shade ring on top. Supplied without a shade.

What does an ash stain look like on mango wood?

A pale grey that sits into the grain rather than covering it, so the darker figure of the mango still shows through and no two bases take it the same way.

Is there a floor lamp to match?

Yes. The Konali range holds a floor lamp base in the same ash stained wood.

Will the wood stay the same colour?

Mango wood changes tone over time. Oiling it will nourish the wood and may darken it, and the oil needs reapplying if it is washed off.
