Description
These storage jars come as a set of three small stone pots, made from marble and sandstone. Each one is 5cm across and 5cm tall: a short, thick-walled cylinder with an open top, closer to a little salt cellar than a canister. The set is multicoloured, and the finish is polished, so the stone is smooth to the touch. Marble and sandstone are natural stones, so the grain and markings vary from one piece to the next, and no two are quite alike.
Their size settles what they are for: small things you want close at hand. Keep one by the hob for flaky salt, fill another with dried herbs or chilli flakes, and set the third out at breakfast to hold an egg. In the kitchen they keep a few everyday seasonings within reach of the chopping board, and on the dining table they work as open salt pots that anyone can pinch from. They also suit a brunch spread or a weekend table laid for guests, where three small stone pots look more considered than a row of packets.
They do not go in the dishwasher, the microwave or the oven, so wash them by hand. Sandstone is a porous stone by nature, with a grainy surface, while marble takes a polish well, and that contrast of textures is much of the charm of the set. We like them best grouped as a trio on a wooden board or a woven placemat, where the mix of stones shows side by side, though they look just as good split between the hob and the table.

Frequently Asked
What are these jars made of?
They are made from marble and sandstone, both natural stones, and finished with a polish, so the grain and markings differ from piece to piece.
How big is each jar?
Each one is 5cm across and 5cm tall, a good size for flaky salt, a spoonful of dried herbs or a single egg at breakfast.
Can they go in the dishwasher?
No, they do not go in the dishwasher, so wash them by hand. They are not for the microwave or the oven either.
Can I keep salt and spices in them?
Yes, they are made to hold food, so flaky salt, dried herbs, spices or chilli flakes all suit these small stone pots well.
How many jars come in the set?
You get three jars in the set, in multicoloured stone that mixes marble and sandstone, so they work as a trio or on their own.
