Description
The Knightsbridge BATMCW4 is a 1225mm LED batten with adjustable wattage settings from 17W to 31W and switchable colour temperature between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5700K daylight. The batten delivers up to 4,500lm output at 4000K on the 31W setting, with efficacy reaching up to 173lm/W at the light source. The pressed steel housing and opal polycarbonate diffuser provide a clean white finish suitable for commercial, retail back-of-house, storage rooms and corridor applications.
Designed for quick installation in both new builds and retrofit scenarios, the batten includes rear and end conduit entry points and a hinged gear tray that opens without removing the fitting from the ceiling, allowing access to the terminal block and wattage/CCT switches. The fitting mounts to standard 600mm centres or BESA boxes. The modular design accepts plug-in microwave sensors (MODMWS) and emergency backup modules (MODEMKIT), both sold separately, without rewiring the fitting.
The selectable wattage function allows one SKU to cover multiple brightness requirements: 17W provides 2,500-2,600lm depending on CCT, 22W provides 3,100-3,300lm, 26W provides 3,600-3,900lm, and 31W delivers 4,100-4,500lm. The CCT switch sits behind the diffuser and is set during installation, allowing the installer to match ambient light temperature to the surrounding space without stocking three different fittings. The 120° beam angle provides wide, even distribution across open-plan areas and corridors.
The batten carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use, Class I earthed protection, and a 7-year manufacturer warranty. The LED module is rated to 100,000 hours at L70B50, meaning at least 70% of the initial lumen output is maintained for 100,000 hours. The constant-current driver operates on 230V 50Hz mains with no dimming capability. CRI exceeds 85 across all colour temperature settings.

Frequently Asked
How is the wattage and colour temperature adjusted?
Both settings are controlled by DIP switches accessible when the hinged gear tray is opened. The installer selects the wattage (17W, 22W, 26W or 31W) and CCT (3000K, 4000K or 5700K) during installation. Once set, the diffuser is replaced and the settings remain fixed during use.
Can sensors or emergency backup be added later?
Yes. The batten accepts Knightsbridge MODMWS microwave sensors and MODEMKIT emergency modules via plug-in connections, allowing these to be added without rewiring the fitting. Both accessories are sold separately.
What mounting options are supported?
The batten mounts to standard 600mm ceiling centres or BESA boxes. Rear and end conduit entry points accommodate different cable routing requirements. The hinged gear tray opens while the fitting remains mounted, simplifying maintenance and inspection.
Is this suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?
No. The IP20 rating is for dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms or outdoor areas, a higher IP-rated fitting is required.
