Knightsbridge 4 Gang Grid Faceplate - Metalclad Silver Grey

The Knightsbridge GDFP004M is a 4-gang metalclad grid faceplate in powder-coated silver grey steel, designed exclusively for the Knightsbridge Metalclad grid system. The plate measures 138mm wide by 88mm high and provides four module apertures that accept any combination of grid switches, sockets or accessory modules from the Metalclad range.

Used in industrial, commercial and outdoor settings where robust wiring accessories are required, the grid system allows custom configurations of switches and sockets behind a single faceplate rather than installing multiple separate units. This 4-gang plate requires one GDF002F mounting frame (sold separately) to fix the plate to the back box and hold the grid modules in position. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor industrial environments, plant rooms and utility areas.

The faceplate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a powder-coated finish that resists scratching and corrosion in demanding environments. The low 3.5mm projection from the wall once mounted keeps the profile slim despite the steel construction. What's required to install this faceplate?

You need one GDF002F mounting frame (sold separately) to fix the faceplate to the back box and hold the grid modules. The frame screws to a standard metalclad back box, then the grid modules clip into the frame, and the faceplate fits over the top.

Can this be used with standard grid modules?

No. This faceplate only accepts Knightsbridge Metalclad grid modules. It is not compatible with standard domestic grid systems or modules from other ranges.

What configurations can be built?

The 4-gang plate accepts any four single-module grid components from the Metalclad range, such as switches, sockets, USB outlets, data modules or blanking plates. You can mix different module types behind a single faceplate to create custom control or outlet configurations.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means this faceplate is designed for dry indoor environments only. For outdoor or damp locations, use a higher IP-rated enclosure from Knightsbridge's weatherproof ranges.
