Description
The Knightsbridge LEDBAT9 is a 605mm LED batten delivering 900 lumens of 4000K cool white light from an integrated 9W LED strip behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The aluminium body measures 605mm x 30mm x 45mm and houses the LED, driver and wiring terminal in a single sealed unit rated IP20 for dry indoor environments.
Designed as a direct replacement for traditional T5 and T8 fluorescent battens in utility rooms, garages, workshops, storage areas, retail back-of-house and commercial spaces, the fitting mounts directly to ceilings or walls via two end-cap fixing points. The rear terminal box accepts mains wiring through a simple screw-terminal block, eliminating the need for external junction boxes. The 120-degree beam angle provides wide spread light coverage suitable for general area lighting rather than focused task work.
The matt silver aluminium finish resists corrosion in damp storage areas and workshops, while the opal diffuser hides the LED strip and softens the light output to reduce glare. At 9W power draw and 146 lm/W efficacy, the batten runs cooler and uses approximately 70% less energy than an equivalent 28W T5 fluorescent. The integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours L70B50 lifespan, meaning the LED will still deliver 70% of its original light output after 50,000 operating hours. The fitting is non-dimmable and carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Frequently Asked
Can this batten be used in a garage or workshop?
Yes. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor environments including garages, workshops, utility rooms and storage areas. It is not rated for outdoor use or areas exposed to direct water contact.
What is the 4000K colour temperature?
4000K is cool white, producing a neutral daylight-like light that is brighter and more clinical than warm white (2700-3000K). It is commonly used in workshops, commercial spaces and task areas where clarity is more important than ambient warmth.
How is the batten wired?
The rear of the fitting has a terminal box with screw terminals for live, neutral and earth connections. Mains cable feeds directly into the terminal box, eliminating the need for external junction boxes. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Is it dimmable?
No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The batten operates at full 900lm output when powered on.
