Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang screwless grid faceplate is an 88mm square steel cover plate designed to hold two modular grid inserts from the Screwless Grid System range. The faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame (GDS001F, sold separately) rather than being screw-fixed directly to the back box, eliminating visible fixings once installed.

Designed for modular wiring installations in residential, commercial and hospitality settings, the grid system allows individual switch, socket, dimmer, data and AV modules to be combined behind a single coordinated faceplate. The 2-gang configuration holds two grid modules side by side, with each module occupying one grid position. Common pairings include a light switch and a dimmer, a socket and a USB charger, or two data outlets.

The matt white finish is a powder-coated layer applied to premium grade steel, providing a hard-wearing surface that resists fingerprints and marks better than gloss white. At 3.5mm projection from the wall surface, the faceplate sits nearly flush once fitted, making it suitable for tight spaces where deeper plates would obstruct furniture or door swings. The IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor locations.

What is needed to complete the installation?

You need one GDS001F metal sub-frame per faceplate, plus the individual grid modules that occupy the two gang positions. The sub-frame fixes to the back box, the modules clip into the sub-frame, and the faceplate clips over the assembled modules.

Can I mix different module types behind one faceplate?

Yes. The Knightsbridge Screwless Grid System allows any combination of compatible modules: switches, dimmers, sockets, USB chargers, data outlets and AV connectors can all be mixed behind a single 2-gang faceplate.

Is the faceplate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The screwless cover clips onto the sub-frame and can be removed without disturbing the wiring. After painting around the plate, clip it back into position.
