Knightsbridge 2 Gang Modular Faceplate - Metal Clad

The Knightsbridge M2G is a 2-gang modular faceplate made from powder-coated premium grade steel, designed to house euro-module inserts for custom AV, data and electrical installations. The 82x82mm plate accepts two 25x50mm euro-modules side-by-side or one 50x50mm double-width module, allowing installers to build bespoke wall outlet configurations combining HDMI, TV/SAT coaxial, USB charging, RJ45 data and other insert types from Knightsbridge's modular range.

Designed for commercial, industrial and residential applications where exposed wiring or robust surface-mounted solutions are preferred over flush-fitted plates, the metal clad construction provides impact resistance and earthing through a dedicated terminal. The 4mm projection from the wall gives clearance for the euro-module inserts to clip securely into the rear frame. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor environments including offices, server rooms, home AV setups and workshop spaces.

The powder-coated steel finish provides corrosion resistance and a neutral silver-grey tone that pairs with industrial, contemporary and utility interiors. The visible fixing screws at top and bottom secure the faceplate to a standard 25mm back box or surface-mounted pattress box. What euro-module configurations does this accept?

The 2-gang plate accepts two 25x50mm euro-modules side-by-side or one 50x50mm double-width module. Common combinations include two HDMI sockets, one HDMI plus one RJ45 data socket, two USB charging ports, or one double TV/SAT coaxial outlet.

Can this be flush-fitted into a wall?

The metal clad design is intended for surface mounting on a pattress box or 25mm back box. The 4mm projection and visible screws make it less suitable for flush installation compared to Knightsbridge's screwless or standard plastic faceplates.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The faceplate itself adds 4mm of projection from the wall once fitted, plus the depth of whichever euro-module inserts are installed behind it.

Is the faceplate earthed?

Yes. The steel construction includes a dedicated earth terminal, making it Class I and suitable for installations where metal faceplates must be earthed to comply with wiring regulations.
