Description
A jewellery box 30cm wide, 18cm deep and 10cm high, built as a brass framed case with clear glass on all four sides and across the base. Inside, glass partitions divide it into six compartments, three across the front and three behind. The lid is a solid panel hinged at the back and cut through with a fine geometric pattern, a mandala at the centre and a rosette at each corner, and it closes onto a small loop catch at the front.
The glass sides keep the contents in view without the lid being raised, so rings and chains sort into the six cells and are found again by eye. At 30cm by 18cm on the surface and 10cm high it takes a dressing table without crowding it, and the smaller Kijang stands alongside. The lid is perforated rather than solid, so light passes through the pattern and the cut-out shows as a dark lace against whatever lies under it.
The frame and the lid are iron under a brass finish and the panels are recycled glass. The pattern in the lid is laser cut, and the glass and the metalwork are then fitted together by hand. The lid carries an iridescent cast that shifts between gold, blue and pink as it turns to the light. The same box is made at 15cm by 9cm.

Frequently Asked
How many compartments does it have?
Six, three across the front and three behind, divided by glass partitions.
How big is it?
30cm wide, 18cm deep and 10cm high. It weighs 2kg.
What is the lid made from?
Iron under a brass finish, laser cut with a geometric pattern and hinged at the back.
Is there a smaller one?
Yes. The same box is made at 15cm by 9cm.
How should it be looked after?
Wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth, and use a microfibre cloth in a circular motion on the glass. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish.
