The Karru is a Christmas stocking made in deep red cotton velvet, 52cm long and 30cm across at its widest. The body is velvet throughout and the band around the opening is natural linen, left undyed so that it reads pale against the red. A sturdy fabric loop is sewn in to hang it by.

At 52cm this is a full-sized stocking rather than a small hanging decoration. It hangs from a mantel, from a hook beside a fireplace, or from the end of a bed, and the loop is made to take a nail or a stocking holder. The Karru range also runs a mini stocking at 13cm, which is the size for a tree branch or a place setting.

The body is cotton velvet and the border is linen, both cut, sewn and finished by hand. The fabrics were chosen for their low environmental impact as much as for the way they feel. The Karru range runs in forest green, rich mocha, indigo and this red, and holds a mini stocking and a velvet sack alongside the full-sized one.
