Description

The Knightsbridge Kara is an 18W LED recessed panel light with a 224mm diameter white polycarbonate trim and an opal diffuser. The integrated SMD LED delivers 1800 lumens at 4000K cool white through edge-lit technology that distributes light evenly across the panel surface, producing uniform illumination without visible hotspots or dark rings.

Designed for offices, corridors, kitchens and commercial spaces where a slim ceiling profile and even light distribution are required, the Kara fits into a 205mm ceiling cut-out and requires only 75mm void depth above the ceiling surface. The 24mm recessed depth keeps the panel flush with the ceiling plane, making it suitable for spaces with limited ceiling depth or where a low-profile fitting is preferred over bulkier downlight housings.

The polycarbonate construction gives the panel an IP20 rating for dry interior use. The fitting is non-dimmable and runs on 230V mains through an integrated constant-current driver. The white finish pairs neutrally with ceiling tiles, plasterboard and painted ceilings. A compatible emergency kit (EMKIT2L, sold separately) can be added for compliance with emergency lighting regulations in commercial installations.

The Kara range includes 6W, 12W, 18W and 24W variants to match different room sizes and lux requirements. The 18W model provides sufficient output for 8-12m² spaces at typical office lighting levels (300-500 lux). The LED has an L70B50 rating of 30,000 hours, equating to approximately 12 years at 8 hours per day before light output degrades to 70% of initial lumens.
