Description

Two cream ceramic mugs, each 8cm across and 6.5cm tall and holding 200ml. The sides are close to straight and each mug is wider than it is high. Rows of dark green drops are painted over the upper half of the body, points facing down, and the rows thin out before they reach the base. The same drops run over the rim and a short way down the inside. The handle is a plain cream loop with no painting on it.

At 200ml this is the smaller of the two Juniper Drop mug sizes, which is a short coffee or a single cup of tea. Because it is wider than it is tall it takes up more room on a saucer or a board than a straight tall mug, and it stands lower against a table edge. The green reads dark against the cream from across a room.

The mugs are ceramic and every drop is brushed on by hand, so the rows sit at slightly different spacings and some drops hold more pigment than others. They are dishwasher safe, microwave safe and safe for food. Two come in a set. Sixteen Juniper Drop pieces are made, among them bowls, jugs, a teapot and a larger mug in the same painting.

Frequently Asked

How many mugs are in a set?

Two.

How much does each mug hold?

200ml.

Can they go in the dishwasher and the microwave?

Yes, both.

Is the pattern painted by hand?

Yes. The green is applied with a brush, one drop at a time, so each mug differs a little from the next.

How do I look after them?

Wash them after every use so they do not stain, using a mild detergent, and do not leave them to soak. Handle them carefully to avoid chipping.
