Description

The medium Juniper Drop bowl is a straight-sided cone 26cm across and 13.5cm deep, standing on a small flat foot. The clay is cream, and dark green drops are laid in staggered rows over the top third of the outside wall, across the rim and on down the inside. Each drop is round at the head and drawn to a point below it.

Twenty-six centimetres is a bowl for one dish rather than for the whole table: a salad for four, or fruit left out on a worktop. At 0.72kg it lifts with one hand when it is empty. Because the drops are carried inside as well as outside, the pattern still shows when the bowl is full. It is food safe.

The body is ceramic and every drop is brushed on by hand in Vietnam, so the rows sit differently from one bowl to the next. A 30cm Juniper Drop serving bowl is made as well, alongside dinner and side plates, cereal and pasta bowls, mugs, jugs, a teapot, a butter dish and a cup and saucer.
