Description

A wide, low cup on a matching saucer. The cup is cream with a small round loop handle, and two staggered rows of dark green drops hang from the rim down the outside, each one broad at the top and drawn to a point below. The inside of the cup is left plain. The saucer is 14cm across with a deep well, and a single row of the same drops runs round the inside of its rim. The cup holds 200ml.

Two hundred millilitres is a teacup rather than a mug, and the cup is wide and low rather than tall, so a pot poured into it cools faster. The saucer is dished rather than flat, so it holds what runs off a spoon instead of letting it spread.

The body is ceramic and every drop is brushed on by hand in Vietnam, so the two rows meet differently on every cup. It is food safe. Juniper Drop runs to a teapot, mugs in two sizes, jugs in two sizes, dinner and side plates, cereal and pasta bowls, serving bowls and a butter dish.
