Description
A round ceramic side plate 22.5cm across with a plain cream well and a wide rim painted in rings of deep green drops. The drops are the same shape as the ones on the 27.5cm dinner plate but they sit larger against a smaller plate, with fewer rings between the well and the rim edge, so the pattern reads bolder here. Each one is a teardrop with its round end outward and its point turned in toward the centre.
Twenty-two and a half centimetres is a side plate rather than a starter plate: bread beside a bowl, a slice of cake, cheese at the end of a meal. Set on top of a Juniper Drop dinner plate it leaves a band of the larger plate showing round it, because it is 5cm smaller across. It is food safe, dishwasher safe and microwave safe.
The body is ceramic and the drops are painted by hand in Vietnam with a brush, so the spacing varies from plate to plate and a few drops in the ring nearest the well print pale grey-green where the brush has run dry. Juniper Drop also runs as a 27.5cm dinner plate, cereal and pasta bowls, a cup and saucer, a teapot, jugs, mugs, a butter dish and two serving bowls.

Frequently Asked
How big is it?
22.5cm across and 2cm deep.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes, and microwave safe, and food safe.
How does it compare with the dinner plate?
22.5cm against 27.5cm, with the same drops sitting larger against the smaller plate and fewer rings of them.
Why are some of the drops paler?
The pattern is painted by hand and the brush runs dry as it goes, so a few drops print grey-green rather than deep green. It varies from plate to plate.
How should I wash it?
After every use, with a mild detergent, to prevent staining. Do not leave it to soak, and handle it carefully to prevent chipping.
