Description

The Juhi is a side table cut from reclaimed timber into an eight-sided drum: an octagonal top with a chamfered edge, a waisted column below it, then a wide octagonal foot. It stands 52cm high and measures 52 x 55cm across the top. The timber is left as it came, so old splits, bolt holes and worn faces are all on show in it.

It stands beside a sofa at about the height of the arm, with room for a lamp and a cup. The top is 52 x 55cm, which is broad for a side table, so it will take a lamp and a drink without either crowding the other. There is no shelf and no drawer.

The wood is reclaimed, and it was once part of old Indian trucks. The makers shape the timber so the grain, the weathered marks and the splits stay visible rather than being sanded out, and no two tables come out the same. At 16.5kg it is solid the whole way through. The Juhi range also holds a coffee table in the same wood.

Frequently Asked

How big is it?

52cm high, and 52 x 55cm across the top.

What wood is it?

Reclaimed timber that was once part of old Indian trucks.

Will every table look the same?

Not exactly. The grain, the splits and the old marks are left visible and fall differently on every table.

Is it solid?

Yes. It is cut from solid timber, with no shelf and no drawer, and it weighs 16.5kg.

How do I look after it?

The wood is sealed, but wipe it over regularly with a soft dry cloth along the grain. Use coasters and mats, and lift any spill straight away with a dry paper towel, then a damp lint-free cloth, and dry it. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight and away from harsh chemicals and abrasives.
