Description

This is a small Christmas stocking made to hang on the tree, not a full-size stocking for the fireplace: a cotton decoration 16cm tall, 12cm long and 3cm wide. The fabric is woven, 90% cotton and 10% polyester, with a polyester filling that gives it a gently padded body and a velvety look. Its loop, cuff and body are green, and the foot carries rows of raised, contrasting dots. A fringed trim runs around the cuff, tassels hang from one side, and small pom-poms dangle from the cuff's lower edge.

Hang it by its loop on the Christmas tree, from a bare branch in a vase, on a cupboard knob or a door handle, or along a garland over the mantelpiece. At 0.046KG it weighs next to nothing, so a slender twig or the tip of a tree branch takes it easily. It suits a tree dressed in greens and natural tones, a centrepiece of cut winter branches, or a window latch in the kitchen or hallway through December. Several hung in a row along a stair rail or a length of twine make an easy festive run, and one tied onto the ribbon of a wrapped present turns the gift wrap into part of the gift.
