Description

This is a long woven table runner in 100% jute, made in green for the Christmas table. It measures 550cm long and 35cm wide, a length meant for the longest tables in the house, or for two tables pushed end to end when everyone comes round. The weave is flecked, with a glint that catches the light, and each edge finishes in a short fringe, so the look is relaxed rather than formal. Jute is a coarse plant fibre with a dry, textured feel, and it gives the runner a rustic, homespun character that suits a festive table.

At 35cm wide it is narrow enough to run down the middle of a table and leave the sides clear, and at 550cm long it has length to spare, so you can let it fall over each end for a generous, draped look. It is just as useful laid along a sideboard, a deep window ledge or a hall console when the decorations go up.
