Description
This is a bamboo fan made for the wall rather than the hand: a wide, pleated sweep of pink bamboo that opens almost into a full circle, with a gap at the base where a long tassel hangs from the hub. It measures 75cm long and 70cm tall, big enough to hold a wall on its own rather than disappear among picture frames. The fan is 90% bamboo, with polyester, wood, cotton and paper making up the rest, and at 0.4KG it is very light for its size. Towards the centre the pink gives way to the bare bamboo, so the fan seems to glow outwards from its hub.
Because it is wall art first, it suits the places where a framed picture can feel too formal: the space over a bed, the wall behind a sofa, a hallway, or a home office that needs some warmth and texture. The pleats catch side light from a window or a lamp, so the shadows between the folds deepen and soften through the day. It looks its best against a plain wall, where the pink has room, and a single fan is wide enough to anchor that wall without help.
Up close, the fan is built from fine strips of bamboo laid side by side and pleated, all gathered into a ring at the hub, which gives the surface its ribbed, almost woven texture. The tassel drops from that ring, and a cord loop rises from the top edge for hanging. Being so light, it needs only a single picture hook or nail to take the loop. Hang it where the tassel can fall free, clear of a headboard or a shelf, so it drops straight and sits neatly against the wall.

Frequently Asked
What material is it?
It is 90% bamboo, with 7% polyester, 1.5% wood, 1% cotton and 0.5% paper making up the rest of the piece.
How big is the fan?
It is 75cm long and 70cm tall, so it fills a good stretch of wall over a bed or a sofa without crowding it.
How do I hang it?
A cord loop at the top of the fan takes a single picture hook or nail, and at 0.4KG it needs no heavy fixing.
Does the tassel come with it?
Yes. The tassel is part of the fan, hanging from the ring at its centre through the gap at the base of the fan.
Where does it look best?
It suits the wall over a bed, behind a sofa, in a hallway or a home office, anywhere a large framed picture would feel too formal.
