Description

Jaime is a large bamboo fan made to hang on a wall, and at 160cm long and 110cm tall it covers a generous stretch of plaster on its own. Fine bamboo slats are pleated and gathered at a single point in the centre, then open out into a wide arc with a softly fringed outer edge. The beige ground carries narrow pinstripes and broader bands of contrasting tone that follow the curve, so the pattern reads as rings spreading from the middle. A tassel hangs from the centre point, and a cord loop at the top takes a picture hook or nail.

This bamboo wall decor needs room around it to look its best: above a sideboard or a low cabinet, over a sofa, or across the wall at the head of a bed. It brings pattern and texture to a plain painted wall, and the pleats give the surface depth and soft shadow. The beige bamboo sits comfortably beside rattan, linen and pale wood, and it suits a sitting room, a bedroom or a wide landing equally well.
