Description

The Knightsbridge IP65 GU10 recessed downlight is a white die-cast aluminium fitting rated for use in bathrooms, shower rooms and other wet areas where spray or condensation is present. The IP65 rating applies to the front face of the fitting (protection against water jets from any direction), while the top side holds an IP20 rating for installation within ceiling voids.

Designed for recessed ceiling installation with a 64mm cut-out diameter and a minimum void depth of 140mm above the ceiling surface, the downlight accepts any standard GU10 halogen or LED bulb up to 35W (bulb sold separately). The 6mm projection from the ceiling keeps the fitting low-profile, while the white finish blends into white or light-toned ceilings. The die-cast aluminium body provides structural integrity and heat dissipation for halogen bulbs, while remaining cool enough for LED operation.

The Class I earthed construction requires connection to a protective earth terminal during installation, following BS 7671 wiring regulations for bathroom zones. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb installed — halogen GU10s dim on standard trailing-edge dimmers, while LED GU10s require LED-compatible dimmers matched to the specific bulb model.
