Description

The Indigo Drop teapot for four is a squat cylinder in cream ceramic, 24cm from the tip of the spout to the outside of the handle and 14.5cm tall to the top of the lid. A band of indigo drops runs round the shoulder in staggered rows, each drop a single brush stroke laid down as a dense head and pulled downward into a tail that fades out. The lid sits flush in the rim with a small knob and a ring of the same drops around it, and the spout rises straight and tapered from low on the body.

It holds 1525ml and is sized for up to four people, against 525ml on the smaller Indigo Drop teapot. At 24cm from the spout to the handle it needs a board or a mat rather than a coaster, and at 14.5cm tall it stays below the line of sight across a table. The handle is a full loop with room for two fingers when the pot is full.

The body is ceramic and every drop in the band is painted by hand, so the spacing and the weight of each stroke differ from pot to pot. It is made in Vietnam. The Indigo Drop range also holds a 525ml teapot and a cup and saucer, and the same drop band runs across all of them. The pot is food safe.
