Description

A teacup and saucer in ceramic. The cup holds 160ml and carries a band of indigo drops around the outside, each one painted by hand and tapering to a point at the bottom. The saucer is plain white with a single line of the same drops around its edge. Together they stand 7cm tall on a 14cm saucer.

One hundred and sixty millilitres is a teacup rather than a mug: enough for a cup of tea drunk hot, not one left to go cold. It is food safe and dishwasher safe. The drops read as a solid band from a pace away and as separate marks up close.

The clay is thrown on a wheel and the drops are painted on afterwards by hand, so the spacing varies from cup to cup. The Indigo Drop range also holds plates, bowls, mugs, a teapot and a jug.
