Description

A butter dish in two parts: a rectangular tray 17cm long and 13cm deep, and a lid that sits over it with an arched handle across the top. The ceramic is cream, and a row of indigo teardrops is painted by hand around the lower edge of the lid, each one pointing down. With the lid on, the two parts stand 11.5cm tall.

Seventeen centimetres by thirteen takes a block of butter laid flat with room to get a knife in beside it, and the lid keeps it from taking up the smell of whatever else is on the table. It is food safe and dishwasher safe.

The body is ceramic and the painting is done by hand, so the spacing and the length of the teardrops vary from one dish to the next. It is made in Vietnam.
