Description

A serving bowl 30cm across and 14cm deep, the sides running out in a straight cone from a small foot to a wide rim. The clay is white, and a band of fine indigo lines is painted around the inside of the rim, each line running down from the edge and stopping short of the base, close enough together to read as one band from across a room.

Thirty centimetres across a cone rather than a curve means the bowl is shallow at the edge and deep only at the centre, which suits leaves and pasta better than soup. At 1kg it sits on a table rather than being passed round it. It is food safe and dishwasher safe.

The clay is white and the painting is done by hand in Vietnam, so no two bands are spaced identically. A 25cm Iba serving bowl is made as well.
