Description

Hygge is a table lamp in graphite. A wide black cone with straight sides and a sharp open rim, standing on a slim black stem that rises from a flat round black disc base. The cone is shallow for its width, so the lamp reads as a broad triangle over a thin line. A small brass collar sits at the crown of the cone where the lampholder shows through the opening, and a second brass cone marks where the stem meets the base. A black flex leaves the foot and trails away. The black is a flat chalky matt throughout. It measures 24cm across.

It is a lamp for a side table, a desk or a bedside, close enough to reach the switch from where you sit, and it lights the surface it stands on rather than the whole room. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa reads as deliberate where one alone reads as an afterthought, and two smaller lamps light a room more evenly than one large one.

The holder is G9 and takes up to 28W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

A G9 lamp up to 28W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
