Description
This shaggy Highland cow planter pairs a sitting cow with a little wooden-effect barrel, both made in brown polystone resin. The cow wraps its front hooves around the barrel and leans in for a cuddle, with a crown of pink and yellow flowers and a green leaf tucked beside its curved horns. A red ladybird perches on the rim of the barrel and a pale blue flower climbs up its side, adding small bright notes to all that warm brown. The long, tousled coat is picked out strand by strand, and the barrel carries the grain of old timber staves held by two dark metal-effect hoops. It stands 14.3cm high, 9.7cm wide and 14.8cm deep, so it fits neatly where space is short.
Settle a small succulent, a pot of herbs or a stem of faux greenery into the barrel and you have a cheerful little scene for a sunny windowsill, a kitchen shelf, a dresser or a desk. Left empty, it works just as well as a pot for pens, paintbrushes or a few hair clips. The rustic barrel and shaggy coat suit country cottage and farmhouse-style rooms especially well, but the friendly face brings a smile to a modern flat too.
The cow and barrel are joined as one resin piece, with the flowers, ladybird and hooves finished in their own colours. We would sit a plant in its own small pot inside the barrel, so it lifts out easily for watering and repotting. To keep the coat's fine detail looking crisp, dust it with a soft dry cloth and wipe the resin with a damp cloth when needed. Tuck a little plant inside before wrapping and it makes a ready-to-give present that only needs a bright spot to settle into.

Frequently Asked
How big is the Highland cow planter?
It stands 14.3cm high, 9.7cm wide and 14.8cm deep, a compact size that suits a windowsill, a shelf or a desk.
What is the planter made from?
It is made from polystone resin, shaped as a shaggy Highland cow hugging a barrel with a wooden-effect grain and metal-effect hoops.
What colour is it?
The cow and barrel are brown, with small touches of pink, yellow, blue, red and green on the flowers, leaf and ladybird.
What can I put in the barrel?
A small plant such as a succulent or herbs in its own pot, a stem of faux greenery, or desk bits like pens and paintbrushes all suit it.
How do I look after it?
Dust it with a soft dry cloth and wipe the resin with a damp cloth when needed. We would keep any plant in its own pot so it lifts out for watering.
