Description

The Higala is an iron lamp base in a rounded urn shape with a short straight neck, finished in burnished bronze. The finish is built up by hand in layers, so bronze and copper run through it alongside bands of blue, teal and rust, and it comes out differently on every base. It is 38cm tall and 22.5cm across, and it weighs 2kg.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. At 38cm tall and 22.5cm across it is a mid sized base, which puts it on a console, a bedside table or a side table in a living room. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the cord runs 2.5m and the plug is UK and EU.

The base is iron. The burnishing is done by hand, base by base, building up layers of colour so that no two come out alike. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Frequently Asked

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, and no bulb is included either.

Is the finish the same on every base?

No. The burnishing is applied by hand in layers, so the depth of the colour and the patina over it vary from one base to the next.

What bulb does it take?

One E27, up to 60W.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it, then wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the finish.
