Description

This is a hand decorated stoneware vase with a round, generous body and a short, straight neck. It stands 23.5cm tall and 16.5cm across. A large painted bird flies across the front, set against a close all-over pattern of small blue flowers and leaves, while the neck carries a deeper blue band with sprigs of foliage and little flowers. The two side handles are shaped like birds' heads, each with a small beak and a painted eye, a touch of wit that is easy to miss at first glance. At 1.23KG it has a pleasing weight in the hand.
