Description

The Hega is a slim mango wood lamp base built like a baluster: a square foot with the corners taken off, a turned round shaft above it that swells and draws in again through a run of rings, then a second squared block at the top. A brass tube rises from that to a brass collar and a black lampholder. The wood is pale honey with the grain running through it and the darker markings left showing. It is 39cm tall and 8cm across.

This is a base only: no shade and no bulb. It puts 39cm of height on an 8cm foot, so it takes almost nothing off a crowded console or a narrow shelf. It takes one E27 bulb up to 40W, the cord runs 2.5m and the plug is UK and EU.

The wood is mango, turned by hand and left its natural colour under a warm finish, so the grain and the darker marks stay visible. Neither a shade nor a bulb is included.

Frequently Asked

Does it come with a shade?

No. It is the base only, with a brass collar and a black lampholder on top. Supplied without a shade.

Is the foot round or square?

Square, with the corners taken off. The shaft between the foot and the block at the top is turned round.

Why does the grain vary from one base to another?

Each base is turned from mango wood and the timber is not matched, so the grain, the tone and the darker markings differ every time.

What bulb does it take?

One E27, up to 40W. No bulb is included.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it, then wipe it with a soft dry cloth. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the wood.
