Description
Our Hazem cabinet is a black wooden cabinet with two glass-panelled doors and a striped back that shows clearly through the glass. It is 51cm long, 22cm wide and 66cm tall, and weighs 7.1KG. Inside, two shelves divide it into three levels, so whatever you keep in it sits behind closed glass doors, on view but tidied away. Each door has its own round knob, and the pair meet neatly at the centre. Fir wood is the main material, with tempered glass in the doors and MDF, paper and a little iron completing the make-up.
At this size it sits well on a sideboard, a chest of drawers or a kitchen worktop, and its flat top gives you one more surface for a vase or a small plant. The glass fronts make it a cabinet for things you like to look at: stoneware, vases, small ceramics, baskets, a run of favourite paperbacks or a few postcards propped against the stripes. In a living room it brings a strong black outline to a pale wall; in a hallway or study it keeps small treasures together without hiding them; in a kitchen it gives tea towels and table linen a tidy home.
The finish is lacquered and distressed, so the black is worn back lightly along the edges of the frame and doors, giving the cabinet a softly aged look from the start. Care is simple: wipe it clean with a moist cloth, frame and glass alike. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download. For styling, let the stripes do the work: keep the shelves fairly sparse, with a few pieces in pale glazes or natural wood, so the black frame and the striped back read clearly through the doors.

Frequently Asked
What is the cabinet made of?
It is 40% fir wood, 30% tempered glass, 15% MDF, 14% paper and 1% iron. The glass sits in the two doors.
How big is the cabinet?
It is 51cm long, 22cm wide and 66cm tall and weighs 7.1KG. That size sits comfortably on a sideboard, a chest of drawers or a worktop.
How many shelves does it have?
There are two shelves inside, dividing the cabinet into three levels behind the two glass doors. Each door has its own round knob.
How do I clean it?
Wipe it clean with a moist cloth. That covers both the lacquered, distressed wooden frame and the glass doors, so care is quick and simple.
Does it come with assembly instructions?
Yes. The maker's assembly instructions come as a PDF download, so you can read them through at any time.
Is the worn look on the edges intentional?
Yes. The cabinet has a lacquered, distressed finish, so the light wear along its edges is part of the design and gives the black a softly aged character.
