Description

This artificial hawthorn branch is a single slender stem, 84cm tall and 22cm across, that divides into side shoots carrying clusters of small round yellow berries and fine pointed leaves. Near the base the stem is bare, so it slides cleanly into a vase and the berried top sits well clear of the rim. It is made from 90% polyethylene and 10% iron and weighs only 0.04KG. Being artificial, it needs no water and will not wilt, so the berries look the same in March as they do in October.

At 84cm, it is a branch for a tall vase rather than a small posy jar: a floor vase in a hallway, a stoneware vase on a sideboard or a wide urn on a dining table. On its own it gives a light, airy line with a soft touch of yellow, which suits a pared-back living room or a bedroom shelf. Tucked into a larger arrangement of faux flowers and greenery, it adds height and loose movement around the edges of the bunch.
