Description

The Hava is a lantern 15.5cm tall and 10cm across. An iron frame is formed by hand into an open cage, and molten glass is then poured and blown into the cage so that it takes its shape inside the metal. The iron is treated in a rustic antique brass finish once the glass has cooled, and the openwork in the cage is what casts the pattern of shadow when a candle burns in it.

This is the smaller of the two Hava sizes. At 10cm across and 15.5cm tall it sits on a windowsill, a shelf or a side table without taking the whole surface, and a run of them will go down the middle of a dining table where one tall lantern would block the view across it. Beside the large Hava it gives a second height rather than a repeat.

The wall is glass and the cage is iron. Every frame is shaped by hand before the glass goes into it, so no two come out the same. The Hava is made in two sizes. The candle is not included.

Frequently Asked

What size is it?

15.5cm tall and 10cm across. This is the smaller of the two Hava sizes.

What is it made from?

Glass, blown into a hand formed iron cage that is finished in antique brass.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. Indoor use only.

How do I look after it?

Wipe it over regularly with a soft, dry cloth so dust and dirt do not settle, and take a microfiber cloth in a circular motion to the glass. Warm water and a mild dish soap will lift excess wax. Dry it at once and do not let it stand in water.

Does it get hot in use?

Yes. Stand the candle securely and keep the flame off the glass, keep it out of reach of children, let it cool fully before it is moved, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
