Description

This porcelain mug wears the Ollivanders wand shop in gold across a matt green body. The shop's name sweeps over a gilded shopfront framed by curling scrollwork and scattered stars, with a small 382 B.C. mark at the side and a ribbon banner beneath that reads MAKERS OF FINE WANDS. Turn it round and the other side carries THE WAND CHOOSES THE WIZARD in tall, shadowed gold lettering. A gold band runs round the rim, the handle is a curving gold scroll with a little curl at the top, and inside, on the cream interior, a black O with two stars and a slender wand waits at the bottom of every drink.

At 340ml it holds a generous tea or coffee, so this is a mug to use every morning rather than one kept behind glass. It stands 9.8cm tall, 12.5cm wide and 8cm deep, a comfortable everyday size for the kitchen, a desk in the study or a reading corner with a stack of well-loved books.
