Description

The Grand Ball is a 25cm spherical pendant light formed from mirrored gold glass, suspended on a brass-finish stem and white drop cable from a matching ceiling rose. The lower portion of the sphere is left open to direct light downwards, while the mirrored interior bounces the E27 bulb's output around the inside of the globe before it escapes. A single E27 lamp holder accepts bulbs up to standard household wattage (sold separately).

The compact 25cm diameter suits hanging in clusters of three or five over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, where multiple spheres at staggered heights work better than one larger fitting. As a single pendant the Grand Ball also works above a console table, in a hallway, or alongside a stairwell. The 150cm cable allows generous drop adjustment on installation, and can be shortened to suit lower ceiling heights of 2.4m and above.

The mirrored gold finish is applied to the inside of the glass, giving a polished metallic exterior that reflects surrounding light and shows the room back to itself in a softened, warm-toned image. When the lamp is switched off the sphere reads as a solid gold ornament; when lit, the open base casts a focused pool of light directly downward, making the pendant useful for task lighting over a worktop as well as decorative effect. The brass-finish hanging stem and ceiling rose match the gold tone of the glass.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. An E27 GLS filament bulb works well visually because the warm filament glow complements the gold mirrored interior. LED filament alternatives are recommended for energy efficiency.

Can it be hung in a cluster?

Yes. The Grand Ball is well-suited to grouping in threes or fives over a kitchen island or dining table, with each pendant set at a slightly different drop height. Each pendant is wired individually and requires its own ceiling outlet or a multi-outlet ceiling plate.

How long is the cable?

The supplied cable is 150cm, which can be shortened on installation to suit ceiling height. As a guide, the base of the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above a dining or kitchen surface.

Does the gold finish wear?

The mirrored gold coating is applied to the inside surface of the glass, which protects it from contact wear and scratches. Clean only the outer glass surface with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges and chemical sprays.
