Description

The Grand Ball is a 25cm spherical glass pendant finished in mirrored copper, suspended on a 150cm cable from a matching copper ceiling fixing. The full-globe form takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately), with the visible filament of an E27 GLS bulb reflected and multiplied across the inner curve of the copper glass to give a warm, lantern-like glow.

Suited to dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast bars and hallway clusters, the pendant works particularly well hung in groups of three at staggered heights over a longer surface. With a 25cm diameter, this is the smaller size in the Grand Ball range, making it a sensible choice for compact kitchens, smaller dining areas, or rooms where a larger 35-40cm globe would feel oversized. The 150cm cable is shortened on installation to set the correct drop.

The mirrored copper plating sits on the inside of the glass globe, so the outer surface stays smooth and easy to dust while the metallic finish remains protected from fingerprints. The copper acts as both reflector and diffuser: viewed from across the room the globe presents as a polished metallic sphere, but directly below the pendant the warm filament light passes through and casts a copper-tinted pool of light onto the surface beneath.

Pair with a clear or amber E27 GLS filament bulb to keep the visible-filament aesthetic consistent with the warm copper tone. Frosted or opal bulbs work too but soften the reflected filament detail inside the globe.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. An E27 GLS filament bulb in clear or amber glass best suits the copper finish, as the visible filament reflects across the inner globe.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 150cm cable is intended to be cut to the correct drop during installation by a qualified electrician. For a dining table the pendant typically hangs 70-80cm above the surface.

Can I hang several together?

The 25cm size is well-suited to clusters of two or three over a kitchen island or longer dining table. Each pendant is wired and hung from its own ceiling fixing, so the spacing and drop heights can be set independently.

How is the copper finish cleaned?

The metallic plating is on the inside of the glass, so the outer surface can be dusted with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishes, which can scratch the glass and dull the appearance of the copper layer beneath.
