Description

The Funk Stout is a 52cm-diameter sculptural pendant light with a tapered conical profile that rises to a pointed apex. The shade is pressed metal finished in matt white on the outside, with a beaten gold interior lining that warms the light cast through the open base. A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the shade, suspended on a 1.5m white cable from a matching white ceiling rose.

The 50cm-plus diameter and 40cm height suit kitchen islands, dining tables and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. Hung singly, the pendant works above a four-seater dining table or a 1.2m-1.5m island. Hung in groups of two or three at staggered drops, the silhouette repeats well over longer islands and runs of worktop. The 1.5m cable can be shortened on installation to set the shade at the right height above the surface.

The shade is built from solid metal rather than spun aluminium, giving it weight and a firm hang without swing. The contrast between the cool matt white outer and the warm beaten gold interior is the defining feature of the design — when the bulb is lit, the gold reflects warm tones down through the open base while the white shell stays neutral against the ceiling. Pair with a warm-white E27 LED filament bulb (sold separately) to bring out the gold reflection.

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED filament bulb between 2700K and 3000K works well, as the warm light brings out the beaten gold interior without overpowering the matt white shade.
