Description

This is a woven throw made mostly from cotton, patterned with broad stripes in two shades of orange and finished with a knotted fringe along each short end. It measures 160cm long and 130cm wide and weighs 1.1KG, a generous size for draping over a sofa, an armchair or the foot of a bed. The blend is 67% cotton, 14% acrylic, 7% viscose, 7% polyester, 2% wool and 3% other fibres, so it is worth knowing about the small wool content if anyone in your home avoids it. Look closely and you will find tiny flecks of other shades caught in the yarn, which give the stripes a gently speckled look.

On a cool evening this is the throw to pull across your knees with a book or a film, and in the bedroom it can lie folded at the foot of the bed as an extra layer for colder nights. The warm orange stripes bring colour to a plain sofa and sit happily beside natural wood, linen and rattan. It also works in a hallway or a spare room, hung over a hook or a blanket ladder so guests can reach for it whenever needed.
