Freida Organza Pendant Lampshade Grey 50cm with Crystal Beads

The Freida is a 50cm diameter drum lampshade wrapped in soft grey organza fabric with cascading strands of crystal beads and hexagonal drops suspended inside the shade. The organza outer layer diffuses light outward while the internal crystals refract and scatter light within the shade itself, creating layered ambient illumination. The shade fits E14 pendant fittings and accepts bulbs up to 40W (sold separately).

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and living spaces where ambient lighting with a decorative accent is needed, the Freida works best on pendant drops of 300-600mm from ceiling to shade, placing the 18cm-high drum at eye level when seated or just above. The grey organza provides a neutral backdrop that pairs with chrome, brushed nickel and polished chrome pendant fittings, and sits comfortably in both contemporary and transitional interiors with cooler colour palettes.

The organza is a lightweight synthetic fabric stretched over a wire frame, giving the shade a soft drape and slight translucency when lit. The crystal beads and hexagonal drops are strung on fine wire inside the frame, creating a visible decorative element even when the light is off. At 0.64kg the shade is light enough for standard pendant ceiling roses without additional support, and the 50cm width suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above to avoid the shade dominating smaller spaces.

What fitting does this shade require?

The Freida fits E14 small Edison screw pendant fittings. The shade has a central ring that clips or screws onto the pendant holder below the ceiling rose. Bulbs are sold separately and should not exceed 40W.

Can the crystal beads be removed or are they fixed?

The crystal beads and hexagonal drops are strung on wire inside the shade frame and are not removable. They form part of the internal structure and contribute to the decorative effect when lit.

What size room does the 50cm shade suit?

A 50cm diameter shade works in dining rooms, bedrooms and living spaces with floor areas of 12-20 square metres and ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In smaller rooms the shade may appear oversized, while in very large open-plan spaces it may lack presence.

How is the organza cleaned?

Dust the organza gently with a soft brush or dry microfibre cloth. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the fabric as they may stain or damage the organza. The crystal beads can be wiped with a barely-damp cloth if needed.
