Description

The Fragment is a 380mm drum pendant with a cylindrical metal shade finished in hand-painted aged gold, suspended from a distressed cross-shaped finial cast in resin. The shade shows horizontal banding where the gold leaf appears deliberately worn back to reveal darker undertones, creating the appearance of aged metal with vertical streaking and patina marks. A single E27 bulb inside the drum (sold separately) casts downward-focused light through the open base, with the gold interior reflecting warm ambient light back into the shade.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.5m and 3m, the Fragment works where a statement piece is needed without filling the entire visual field. The adjustable drop of 632-1242mm allows the pendant to be set 700-800mm above a dining table or lower over an island worktop depending on ceiling height. The drum diameter of 380mm suits tables seating 4-6 or island runs of 1.5-2m, providing enough downward light for task visibility without needing additional fixtures.

The hand-painted finish means no two Fragment pendants look identical — the aged gold develops different wear patterns, streaking and banding depending on how the paint is applied and distressed during production. The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K for dining and hallway use.

Is the drop adjustable after installation?

The drop is adjustable on installation between 632mm and 1242mm by shortening the cable and chain before final fitting. Once the pendant is installed and the ceiling rose cover is in place, the drop cannot be adjusted without removing and re-fitting the entire fixture.

Does the aged gold finish vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shade is hand-painted and distressed individually, so the wear patterns, streaking and banding differ between pendants. This is a feature of the hand-applied finish, not a defect.

What ceiling height is needed?
