Description

The Knightsbridge Fan Boost grid switch cover is a black nickel rocker marked 'FAN BOOST' for labelling bathroom extractor fan controls or boost-function switches. The rocker clips onto standard Knightsbridge grid switch modules, replacing the plain rocker supplied with the module to add clear functional labelling.

Designed for bathroom installations where an extractor fan has a two-speed or boost function controlled by a grid switch, the marked rocker removes ambiguity about which switch activates the higher extraction rate. The cover measures 33mm high by 16mm wide and projects 6.8mm from the grid plate once fitted, matching the profile of standard Knightsbridge grid rockers.

The black nickel finish is a dark gunmetal tone with a low-sheen surface that resists fingerprints and pairs with grid plates in matching black nickel or contrasting finishes. The rocker is constructed from ABS plastic with a steel internal frame for the spring mechanism, and carries an IP20 rating suitable for general indoor use outside wet zones. Knightsbridge backs the component with a 25-year warranty.

What grid modules is this compatible with?

The rocker fits all standard Knightsbridge grid switch modules including single-pole, double-pole, intermediate and retractive switches. It clips directly onto the module mechanism, replacing the plain rocker supplied with the module.

Can the rocker be removed and replaced?

Yes. The rocker is designed to be removable and interchangeable. If the switch function changes or the labelling needs updating, the rocker can be pulled off the module and replaced with a different marked or plain rocker without rewiring.

What does IP20 mean for bathroom use?

IP20 provides protection against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but offers no moisture protection. The rocker is suitable for bathroom switch positions outside wet zones (zones 0, 1, 2), typically on the wall outside the shower enclosure or bath area.
