Description

Every switch start fluorescent fitting needs a starter, and this is the FSU type, rated on the pack for tubes from 4W up to 65W. That one span covers the short tubes used in under cupboard and cabinet fittings as well as the long battens found in garages and workshops, so a single part number stands in for several. The body is white, with two pins on the base that drop into the starter holder and lock with a quarter turn. Two starters come on one blister card.

Starters belong to switch start gear, the kind of fitting that blinks once or twice before the tube settles. Kitchen and utility battens, garage strip lights, loft and cellar fittings, shed and outbuilding tubes and older commercial battens are all typical homes for one.
