This is a small clear night bulb with an E14 small screw cap, the size below the more common E27. It draws 7W from a coiled filament and puts out 50 lumens, which is deliberately low: enough to outline a doorway or a step, not enough to read by. The colour is warm white at 2,200K, a deep amber-leaning warmth closer to candlelight than the brighter 2,700K of a standard household bulb. The glass is clear, so the filament itself is the point of light. It comes as a blister of two.

It is made for plug-in night light units, and the retail pack states it is for use with the maker's own night light. The same cap and size suit small fittings that take a 7W SES bulb: a landing plug-in, a bedside unit, a child's room where a full lamp would be too much at three in the morning. Before you buy, check the cap on the old bulb: E14 threads measure about 14mm across, which is why these sit in slim housings where an E27 will not. Check the housing's own maximum wattage marking as well, since a night light rated for 7W should not be pushed higher.

The specification lists it as non-dimmable, so it belongs on a plain switch or a plug-in socket rather than a dimmer circuit. Its energy rating is G, which is what filament technology gives you: 7W for 50 lumens is not efficient, and the trade-off is warm, instant light with no warm-up and no driver electronics. Will this fit my plug-in night light?

It fits any holder that takes an E14 small screw cap, the narrow threaded cap about 14mm across. Take the old bulb out and compare the thread before ordering, as some night lights use a wedge or bayonet base instead.

How much light does 50 lumens actually give?

Very little, and that is the point. It is enough to show a doorway, a stair edge or a light switch once your eyes have adjusted, without waking anyone. A standard 40W household bulb gives roughly ten times as much.

Can I put it on a dimmer switch?

No. The specification lists it as non-dimmable, so use it on a plain wall switch or a plug-in socket. At 7W it also sits below the minimum load most household dimmers need to run steadily.

Why is there no wattage equivalence figure on the pack?

Equivalence figures compare an LED against an old filament lamp. This bulb is the filament type, so the 7W is the real power it draws and the 50 lumens is the real output. Neither the pack nor the specification prints an equivalent.

Is a protection rating given for this bulb?

No IP rating is printed on the pack or listed in the specification, so we make no claim on one. Fit it in an enclosed indoor night light housing designed to take a 7W small screw cap lamp.
