Description

The Eveready 15W oven bulb is a heat-resistant incandescent lamp rated to operate continuously at temperatures up to 300°C inside domestic ovens, cookers and other high-heat appliances. The bulb uses an E14 (Small Edison Screw) base and houses a tungsten filament inside a reinforced glass envelope designed to withstand the thermal cycling of an oven environment. Each pack contains two bulbs.

The bulb produces 100 lumens at 2800K, giving a warm white light output sufficient to illuminate the oven cavity during cooking without overwhelming the viewing window. The 15W power draw is typical for appliance lighting and compatible with standard oven lamp sockets rated for incandescent loads. The filament construction means the bulb reaches full brightness instantly when the oven door is opened or the oven light switch is activated.

The reinforced glass envelope and E14 brass base are built to handle repeated heat exposure from baking, roasting and grilling cycles. The bulb is rated Energy Class G under current UK labelling, reflecting the inherent inefficiency of incandescent technology compared to LED alternatives, but incandescent remains the default choice for oven lighting due to its proven high-temperature reliability and compact form factor that fits existing appliance sockets.

Frequently Asked

Is this bulb compatible with all ovens?

The E14 base fits most domestic ovens, cookers and ranges sold in the UK and Europe that use a Small Edison Screw socket for the internal light. Check your existing bulb base before ordering — if the current bulb has a larger E27 base or a different fitting type (bayonet, halogen capsule), this bulb will not fit.

How long does the bulb last in an oven environment?

Lifespan varies with usage pattern. Ovens that cycle the light frequently (door opening during cooking) will see shorter bulb life than ovens where the light stays on continuously during a single cook cycle. Typical lifespan is 1,000-2,000 hours of operation, equivalent to roughly one year of regular domestic use.

Can this be used outside an oven in a standard lamp?

Yes, the bulb will function in any E14 socket, but the heat resistance is unnecessary outside an appliance and the 100-lumen output is very low compared to general lighting bulbs. It would provide minimal useful light in a living space.

Why does the specification show 3,000K but the packaging says 2,800K?

Both values are within the warm white range and refer to the same bulb. Incandescent colour temperature varies slightly between individual bulbs and through the bulb's lifespan. The difference between 2,800K and 3,000K is imperceptible to the human eye in practical use.
