Description

Our Ever plate is a long, oval stoneware plate in blue, 24.5cm long, 13.5cm wide and 2.5cm tall. Its rounded ends and gently raised rim give it the feel of a shallow tray rather than a flat dinner plate. The glaze has a rough, mottled texture that catches the light, and broad stripes with a brushed look run across the surface in a loose, uneven rhythm, some reaching in from one long side and some from the other. At 0.5KG it feels solid in the hand without being heavy to pass across a table.

The size suits sharing food rather than a full meal: a little heap of olives, a few slices of cheese with crackers, sliced bread beside a dish of oil, or a row of small bites handed round with drinks. It also works as a tray beneath a small bowl, keeping a dip and its spoon together in one place. On the dining table it sits comfortably between place settings, and on the kitchen counter it is handy for a cut lemon or a few herbs while you cook. Away from food, its narrow, flat shape makes a tidy dish on a dresser for rings and other jewellery, or a place for keys in a hallway.

The plate is made from 100% stoneware. Stoneware is fired at high temperatures into a dense body, which is why it stands up well to everyday use.
