Endo Large Reclaimed Iron Vase - Aged Black

The Endo is a vase built from iron in three stacked sections: a straight cylindrical foot, a squat rounded drum above it that steps out to the full 19cm width, and a plain cylindrical neck that steps back in to a 10cm opening. It stands 40cm tall. The metal is aged black, close to graphite over most of the surface, with a warmer bronze coming through along the seams where the sections meet and round the middle of the drum. A glass insert sits inside the body so the vase will hold water.

At 40cm it carries a tall arrangement, and the 10cm opening gathers stems into one bunch rather than letting them fall open across the mouth. It stands on a low table beside the smaller size in the range, and holds dried stems. The foot is narrower than the drum, so it takes less of a shelf or a sideboard than its height would suggest.

The body is recycled iron and the insert is glass. Rolled iron sheets are cut, shaped and joined by hand, which is why the seams show, and the aged finish falls differently on every piece, so no two vases carry the same markings. The Endo vase is also made in a small.

How do I look after it?

Wipe the metal with a soft dry cloth. Hand wash the glass insert with a mild dish soap and do not leave it to soak. Harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners will damage the finish.
