Our Emmie is a white table lamp with a drum shade on a tapered base, both covered in the same nubbly, textured fabric, so the whole lamp reads as one soft, rounded shape. It stands 30cm tall and 20cm across, and the shade is 12cm tall and the same 20cm across. That compact size sits on a bedside table, a small side table or a bookshelf without crowding it. The composition is 40% polyester, 30% PVC, 20% iron and 10% polystyrene, and the lamp weighs 0.72KG, light enough to move from room to room.

Switched on, light shows softly through the shade and out of its open top, and falls down over the textured base, so the lamp gives a cosy pool of light for winding down in the evening. We like it on a bedside table for reading before sleep, beside an armchair in the living room, on a desk in a study or on a hallway shelf. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry rooms. The 180cm cable gives you room to reach a socket behind a bed or sofa. The switch sits on the cord, so you can turn the lamp on and off without reaching under the shade.
