A side table, 77cm tall, in silver. Overhang decides how it feels to sit or stand at: a top flush with the frame reads neat and gives you nowhere to put your knees, and a little overhang does the opposite. At 30cm wide it is about the width of a laptop. A side table is judged on height before looks: too low and a mug is a reach, too high and it crowds the arm of the chair. This one sits in the range that suits most sofas and armchairs.

A cool metal finish reflects white rather than yellow, which sharpens a room instead of warming it. Beside a window it disappears; against a dark wall it draws a bright outline.
